By accessing and using SHORT., you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. SERVICE DESCRIPTION

SHORT. provides URL shortening services that allow users to create shortened versions of long URLs. We also provide analytics and tracking features for registered users.

3. USER ACCOUNTS

Account Creation:

  • You may create an account using email/password or OAuth providers
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account

Guest Usage:

  • Guests can create shortened URLs without an account
  • Guest-created URLs do not include analytics access
  • Guest usage is subject to rate limiting

4. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree NOT to use SHORT. to:

  • Share malicious, fraudulent, or illegal content
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Engage in phishing or scamming activities
  • Violate intellectual property rights
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Spam or send unsolicited communications
  • Circumvent rate limits or security measures
  • Scrape or abuse our service

5. RATE LIMITING

To prevent abuse, we enforce rate limits:

  • Guest Users: 10 URLs per hour per IP address
  • Registered Users: 100 URLs per hour
  • Violations may result in temporary or permanent IP blocks

6. CONTENT AND URLS

  • You retain ownership of the URLs you shorten
  • We reserve the right to disable shortened URLs that violate these terms
  • We may scan URLs for malicious content
  • Shortened URLs may be deactivated without notice if they violate our policies

7. SERVICE AVAILABILITY

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the service at any time
  • Perform maintenance with or without notice
  • Change features or pricing

8. ANALYTICS AND DATA

  • Only authenticated users can access analytics for their URLs
  • Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized where possible
  • We collect IP addresses (hashed), location, referrer, and user agent

9. TERMINATION

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to our service:

  • For violations of these Terms of Service
  • For fraudulent or illegal activity
  • At our sole discretion with or without notice

10. DISCLAIMERS

SHORT. is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Accuracy or reliability of analytics
  • Permanent storage of shortened URLs
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

SHORT. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

12. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where SHORT. operates.
